The Low Voltage Disconnect (LVD) Unit is a low power device that can be used to protect batteries from damage and help extend battery life.
The LVD prevents over-discharge and subsequent damage of batteries, regardless of battery technology.
It is designed to operate on a 12V nominal voltage and has a factory default disconnect voltage of 10.8V. The disconnect voltage is very easy to set up, requiring only an adjustable power supply.
The unit has a very low residual current drain, particularly when compared with other LVD products. The 3 State of Charge LEDs adjust automatically when on load providing an accurate visual indication of remaining battery capacity. The multi-pole connector provides access to the functions remotely allowing the user to set up offboard switches and LEDs.
It can control currents up to 10A on board and can control an external relay to allow for load currents up to 200A.
